We need more backyard wrestling wrestling video archivists to digitize old footage from Backyard Wrestling federations across the world.
I know there are many people associated with the preservation of Backyard Wrestling content who could come together and handle our communities archiving needs.
Ideally, I would have different people in every geographic corner of the world to handle the archiving.
Archivists throughout the United States, Canada, England and elsewhere could come together and handle their respective territories in their attempt to digitze high-definition copies of old footage.
Personally I would be willing to digitize anything that comes my way, regardless of where it comes from.
I would also be willing to do it for free but I believe we need to reach an agreement somehow with the feds to be able to use their content for future Backyard Wrestling Link feature length releases. I'm not saying I want to make money off of your priceless footage, however I am partial to conversation about making money WITH you, or releasing non-profit feature lengths.
I never really understood why the Backyard Wrestling Link never made their own home releases given the incredible success of The Best of Backyard Wrestling videos a lot of us were associated with. The amount of D.I.Y talent in our community is infinite. I know we could be very successful if we come together.
I think the video editors on here, combined with the archivists, should work with federations old and young across the world to release our own series of "Backyard Wrestling" videos. I know I personally have tons of footage I can contribute to a series of videos.
