Give some love for the XC-Dub!

Xplosive Championship Wrestling (XCW) has taken YouTube by storm since they appeared on the platform in 2013. Since then they have uploaded hundreds of videos for backyard wrestling fans on the Internet to enjoy. Hailing from Shelbyville, Indiana XCW's history goes all the way back to 2004 where they were putting on backyard shows on a ground set-up. Since then they have obtained a beautiful ring and now wrestle in an indoor facility for their growing number of fans.

Last week XCW released the footage from their most recent event "Destined for Greatness." All championships were defended throughout the evening which witnessed eight grueling matches in its two-hour entirety. Video production is one of XCW's strengths as graphics, intros, promos and commentary segments were all included to make this a realistic, professional looking 4K product. The lights and smoke used at the entrances of their competitors looks fantastic and also adds to their credibility as a serious backyard wrestling company.

The wrestling ring they use is fairly small for their larger competitors or tag-team matches, but the wrestlers manage quite well with the space they have. Due to the smaller nature of their facility only one camera is used to film their events, seemingly from a hand-cam. Though it's not necessary it would be nice to see the event shot from a stable camera on a tripod perhaps. The hand-cam is sometimes shaky or looks too close to the subject and distracts the viewer from the event.

One thing I noticed is that their referee seems to know more than a typical backyard wrestling referee, adding much needed realism to the matches. Sometimes throughout the event the audio from the ring and the match drains out the live commentating booth. It would be nice to see an audio line dubbed into the mix so we could hear everything the commentators are saying in the final production.

Besides uploading regular backyard wrestling events, XCW also uploads a handful of other shows you might be interested in. No False Finish with Chris Jones is in its sixth season, while other shows like XCW Rundown and XCW Xtra Compilations have been around for some time as well. Make sure to check out those programs to get your full XCW fix!
