Will "Tre Cnt" from the Rock and Issa Rae ever come out?

One of the most interesting pieces of backyard wrestling news that I heard about in the last few years was the future production of HBO's backyard wrestling show, Tre Cnt.

Little has been said since it was announced HBO had signed a deal with writer and director Issa Rae.

Given the success of The Rock's NBC show, Young Rock, it would be a disappointment if this production was somehow cancelled. The world deserves to have an A+ television show about backyard wrestling featuring an All-Star line-up. Having The Rock as the lead actor in this show would elevate it to incalculable levels.

Most people agree that the show needs to be called something different. I'm a fan of Three Count, even, but Tre Cnt will probably not transpire well with their target audience.

One thing the director, Issa Rae, needs to keep in mind is that a successful backyard wrestling show must demonstrate an authenticity in terms of image and substance. For many reasons that the Stranger Things is successful, a backyard wrestling show needs to represent the history, events and aesthetics of the backyard wrestling correctly.

It is our hope that director Issa Rae contacts us here at this backyard wrestling historical website and uses us in some capacity for the show. We have been directly involved in many productions in the past including The Best of Backyard Wrestling, Backyard Dogs, Backyard Criminals and The Backyard.

There are thousands of intricate details and moments I have lived through and learned about regarding the history of backyard wrestling. From the websites we used to find each other, the aesthetics of our websites and characters to the up's and down's of running a backyard wrestling organization, no one knows backyard wrestling better than us here at the Backyard Wrestling Link.

Hopefully HBO does whats best and keeps this television show alive! And hopefully Issa Rae does whats best for her representation of backyard wrestling and contacts us for collaboration! I always wanted to go to Hollywood ;)
